The gang is joined by resident 5th Host Ray Perez Jr. (@rayfuturepro) to talk about Modern, how much Ray doesn’t like Modern, what could get unbanned in Modern, what will get banned in Modern, which GPs and PT events Ray will go to if it means playing Modern and Modern. It felt like that was all we talked about but we did like 90 minutes on this one to make up for not having a show last week. Oh, and no Corbin, so that’s a bonus. We talked about him but it got dirty so that will likely end up on After Hours. Just listen to the episode already.

Two quick replies re: Modern:
1- Telling folks to just play a different deck for awhile translates into “buy another $500-1,000 worth of cards and stop playing the $500-$1,000 worth of cards you already bought for Modern”.
2- Tons of folks at Detroit were playing decks they thought could handle opponents playing Eldrazi…. and Eldrazi was still 47% of the Day 2 Field and 6 out of the Top 8. Everyone keeps saying they have adeck that crushes Eldrazi, but the data from tournament results do not support that assertion.
To the guy saying modern should adjust instead of banning eldrazi, you’re an idiot. The deck is to good an warps the format to far. It’s very evident you don’t play modern and should not comment on it. Leave the opinions to someone who has knowledge like Ray Perez
While I would disagree with how strongly you worded your opinions about, I assume, Ryan (they’re right, I didn’t listen), I do agree with your conclusions. Modern needs a banning.
How on earth can you say dig through time should be banned immediately, but mishras workshop for one archetype is fine and should stay. Stick to edh, it suits you better.
